WHO WE ARE
We are hiring bookkeepers. Please indicate your interest in the contact form below.
I am a talented mathematics graduate and business administration professional, bringing seven years of hard-hitting expertise in operations, bookkeeping, financial forecasting, budgeting, payroll, and grant management. At 17, I cut my teeth as an assistant manager and bookkeeper for a bustling local café, proving my grit early on. From there, I rose to the challenge of leading as the executive director of my own nonprofit. I also mastered the responsibilities typically assigned to a treasurer for yet another nonprofit with bold speed and unconventionality. My record additionally includes service on municipal finance committees and the cultivation of a loyal base of satisfied accounting clients. Beyond the books, I’ve ventured into the world of precious metals and gemstone trading, navigated equity markets, and built experience in both domestic and international real estate investment.
Nancy, my mother, is a seasoned professional accountant with more than 40 years of experience. She launched her career at just 19 as manager of two Brooks Brothers stores, a premier luxury retailer of the 1980s and 90s. Though she first set her sights on fashion design, she soon discovered her true calling in accounting, going on to serve corporations and nonprofits across New York City, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Her expertise covers the full spectrum of finance: tax preparation and compliance, estate and trust management, financial reporting, audit readiness, accounts payable and receivable, payroll administration, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow. She later married my father, a former mathematician with the TATA Institute of Fundamental Research who diverged to electronics and went on to count the Canadian Parliament among his clients back in the day.
Mandy is a good friend of mine, a graduate in accounting with a gift for numbers. She grew up in a small New England town, the kind of place where everyone knew she was the girl who could add better than the adults. After college, she started at a regional consulting firm, often working with mom-and-pop shops: bakeries, mechanics, little family stores. She liked those jobs because she got to see the faces behind the numbers, and she told me once that she felt proud when a shop owner could finally breathe easier knowing the bills were squared away. Later, she moved on to a manufacturing company, where things were bigger, faster, and less personal, but she still brought the same precision to journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, and audits. She’s the type who’ll review a balance sheet line by line at midnight just to be sure. Like the rest of the staff, she’s proficient in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Excel.
